John E. Brock, age 70, of Apopka, passed away on Monday, October 07, 2013. Born on September 18, 1943 in Monticello, FL, he moved to the Central Florida area in 1966. Mr. Brock was a Baptist and worked as an inspector for the Agriculture Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lessie Belle and Charles Brock; brother, Charles B. Brock, Jr.; and sister, Lessie B. Brock. Mr. Brock is survived by his loving wife, Melissa; children, Lisa Myers, Pamela Brock, Alison Frazier, and Scott Frazier; siblings, Helen Montesano, Gene Brock, Betty Driggers, Jane Moore, Julie Withers, Jerry Brock, and Gary Brock; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the charity of your choice.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

John was such a kind and generous man. He took care of my lawn for many years. During a time when I was out of work, John still took care of my lawn even though he knew I couldn't pay him much. I will miss seeing his smiling face every week. Rest in peace.
