John Nicholas Del Russo, 84, of Springfield, NJ was born December 10, 1928 and died September 7, 2013 in Apopka, FL where he lived since January 2013. Born and raised in Madison, NJ, and graduated from Madison High School. He served in the US Army from 1951-1953 in Korea in the Punchbowl Sect, in the 5th Regiment Combat Team of the Lightning Division. He received several ribbons – one with two stars. He received the Korean Service Medal on the 50th Anniversary of the Korean War. He was employed by New York Life Insurance and the US Postal Service for 30 years before retiring in 1988. He was an active member of the Elks, American Legion, Knight of Columbus and the VFW. He also served as a volunteer at Morristown Memorial Hospital in NJ. He enjoyed traveling, taking cruises & trips with his companion of many years, Mary Cubberly. He is survived by his daughter, Jackie of Florida and his sister, Antoinette Colarusso of Whippany, New Jersey.
