It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jonathan Hernandez, who departed from us on June 9, 2024, at the tender age of 26. Born on June 4, 1998, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Jonathan was a beacon of joy and light in the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Dorcas and fathers, Jamie and Peter. Jonathan was one of 11 siblings and had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who would forever hold him in their hearts. Jonathan’s loving nature and infectious laughter brought his family together. His presence was a source of warmth and happiness, and he had an uncanny ability to make everyone around him feel special and loved. His sense of humor and compassionate heart were the hallmarks of his personality. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Jonathan’s love for adventure and his playful spirit took him on many travels, where he made countless memories and friends. He enjoyed making videos that showed his quirkiness and captured his love for his family. He found joy in hiking through nature trails and basking in the serenity of the beach. He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Cleo, who was his faithful companion on many of his adventures. Jon had a green thumb and took great pride in caring for his plants, which flourished under his attentive care. His will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to share in his journeys.
Above all, Jonathan’s love for the Lord was the cornerstone of his life and it was evident in the kindness and generosity he showed to everyone around him.
