Mr. Justiniano “Tino” Mendez

d. September 19, 2023

On September 19 th , 2023 Justiniano “Tino” Mendez went home to be with the Lord at the age of 66.

Tino was born on February 10, 1957 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to Dona Ana Julia Hernandez Lopez and Don Justiniano Mendez Hernandez, a native of the Lenca’s Tribes of Intibuca, Honduras.

In the 1970’s, he migrated to the United States starting in Miami Florida, but ultimately calling Apopka, Florida home.

Here, he raised the 3 children he had with his former spouse Connie Riddle Jeangilles. He also helped raise an additional 2 children throughout his years.

He called himself a simple man and lived his life as such, holding no value in material things but instead freely gave any and everything he had to anyone who asked or was in need, making God and family the priority in his life. We have countless unforgettable (and some unbelievable) loving memories, stories, antics, songs and invaluable life lessons from him that we will continue to share with all his future descendants. His deep faith, compassion, generosity as well as his ability to forgive others were the foundation of his life and what he demonstrated to his children throughout his years. This is his legacy. It is the beautiful gift he left to his family and all who knew him.

Tino is survived by his siblings Aracelly, Martha Elena, Julio Cesar and Rigoberto. Also by his children Renee (Lawrence) Mendez, Rachel (Ramon) Mendez, and David (Cynthia) Mendez. In addition to niece Yuly Arnold, step daughter Fay Miranda and their descendants:

21 Grandchildren

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Psalm 91
Those who live in shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow if the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord; He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
