Kyle Walton Amburgey born Aug. 26, 1984, in Middletown, OH, passed away at the age of 38 on April 19, 2023, in Daytona Beach, FL. He is survived by his mother, Kim Anderson, and grandmother, uncles, aunts and cousins who all live in different states, along with many dear friends who are like family.
Kyle was a huge Florida Gators fan and even had the opportunity to meet Steve Spurrier and Danny Wuerffel while attending football camp at age 11. His strong athletic abilities led him to be partnered with Danny for the camp’s duration, and even shared a locker with him.
In his youth, Kyle was an outstanding athlete, excelling in baseball and football. H and he made many lifelong friends through team sports. Throughout his life, he never met a stranger. He could walk into a convenience store and come out with three new friends. Kyle loved people and they loved him.
Kyle loved the water and could always be found fishing, swimming, boating or just hanging out at the beach. At age 12, he was surfing once and saved a drowning adult man caught in a rip current. Kyle found his peace near the ocean; it was his happy place.
He cared for animals of all types, and one of his goals was to have his own dog. He often borrowed pets from friends and showered them with love and attention. One of the things he would do is call his mom’s neighbors to ask if he could take their dogs for walks.
Kyle also had a soft spot for the elderly, toddlers and babies – so much so, one time his mom watched him pet his friend’s newborn. He always went out of his way to help anyone older, weaker or vulnerable in some way. Many times he carried in groceries for neighbors, helped with household tasks and even planted gardens for them. If anyone ever needed anything, Kyle would be the first to volunteer. He had a heart of gold.
His mother is blessed with many wonderful memories of his early days and was fortunate to have spent the last five months with him. During these last few months while living with his mom, they were able to build amazing memories once again.
He never failed to let his mom know how much he loved her. He always ended phone calls with “I love you.” From Heaven, Kyle has already shown his mother signs that he is still with her. All of you, please watch for a red cardinal, and that will be Kyle letting us all know he’s okay.
