Tribute to our Brother

We remember Larry in many ways.  He was a happy little boy playing with little plastic army men, cowboys and Indians.  He loved to watch cartoons.  Being a quiet child, loving and kind to everyone, not quick to argue or fight.  When he got a little older he would play board games with his dad, his cousin Steve and his brother-in-law, Bobby.  They would spend hours playing Risk and he also enjoyed playing Racko and Milles Borne.

Larry loved to go to the movies and watched all the wrestling and football games on television when he could.  His favorite football teams were the San Francisco 49’ers and Denver Broncos.  Elvis Presley was his favorite singer and he loved to watch his videos and listen to his music.  He displayed Elvis posters and drank his coffee out of Elvis cups.  He collected hundreds of movies on videos and DVD’s.

Although he had a limited education, he was not lazy and wanted to work and earn his own way.  He worked hard and never complained.  He had very few sick days in his tenure of thirty four years at three Howard Johnson’s locations. The third location was sold and became The Celebrity Deli.

During our mother’s later years she could not do all of the house-hold chores she was used to doing.  Larry stepped up and took over doing the cooking, cleaning and washing the clothes to help.  Since Larry lived with our mother, he was her everyday caregiver and bore the day to day responsibility for making sure she took her medicine and helping her in many ways.

Larry was always willing to help out if family members were moving.  He took care of all of the yard work in the houses our mother and he lived in.  We all nicknamed him the “Bear”.

Larry had a good heart and was always willing to give of his time and self to help others and his family.  He will always hold a special place in our hearts and we will think of him often.

We all miss you Larry.

Love,

Sherry, Karen, & Kathy
