Melchor Galva, 85, of Apopka, Florida, passed away on May 12, 2015. Mr. Galva was born in San Juan, Dominican Republic. He was a Farmer. Mr. Galva is survived by his loving wife Leopolinda Galva of Apopka; sons Timoteo Galva of Milwaukee, WI, Nehemias Galva of Apopka, Gamalier Galva of Milwaukee, WI, Melchor Galva, Jr. of Chicago, IL; daughters Mildres Galva of Milwaukee, WI, Viadina Galva of Altamonte Springs, FL, Loyda Galva-Velazquez of NJ, Betzaida Galva Montes of Milwaukee, WI; sister Milta Galva, Dominican Republic; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
