MURPHY EDWARD SLATER, SR, age 60, of Apopka, passed away Saturday, February 08, 2014. He was born September 21, 1953 in Plant City, FL. He was an Auto Mechanic and a member of the Morning Star Cowboy Church in Leesburg as well as a member of the Gospel Group, More Than a Memory. Mr. Slater is survived by his loving wife, Linda Slater of Apopka; sons, Murphy E. Slater, Jr, of Apopka, Shannon Slater of Apopka and Scott (Christian) Bakle of Louisiana; brother, Theran Slater of Okeechobee; sister, Mayble Powell of Apopka; 5 grandchildren.
