Paul S. Duren, 71, of Deltona, Florida passed away on January 02, 2024. Mr. Duren was born on October 24, 1952 to the late Samuel and Hazel Duren in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Duren is preceded in death by his sister Janet Sexton. He is survived by his loving wife Margo Duren; sister Judith Tilford; in-laws Van Tilford and Doyle Sexton; cousin Marjorie Mickelson; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Duren was born at Orange Memorial Hospital and moved from Orlando to Apopka when he was only about a year old. He attended elementary school at Dream Lake; and then moved on to Apopka High School where he graduated with the class of 1970. From there he went to Florida State University where he graduated with a major in accounting in 1974. He worked at the Office of the Auditor General from 1980-1993 as a Sr. Public Accounts Auditor. Paul was then hired by Seminole County Public Schools in 1993 and retired in 2014. During his tenure at Seminole County Public School he was elected president of the Florida School Finance Officers President in 2005.
He loved to travel around the world and visited many places. He loved to take care of his garden with his wife Margo and always brought the best vegetables to any family gathering. He loved to watch sports such as Apopka High School football games; Baseball; NASCAR; the Orlando Magic; golf and especially FSU.
Paul was a loving, caring and humble family man. He had an amazing sense of humor and could make anyone laugh with a silly little joke. He will be dearly missed by his many loved ones and friends.
