Raymond “Ray” Bruno Lorenzi, 80, of Apopka, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014. He was born May 20, 1934 in McKees Rock, PA and moved to Central Florida in 1970. He was a Finishing Carpenter, member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and Moose Lodge # 766. Mr. Lorenzi is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Lorenzi of Apopka; sons, Raymond James Lorenzi of GA and Michael Benjamin Lorenzi of Sorrento; brothers, Leo Lorenzi and Richie Lorenzi both of PA; 3 grandchildren, Christina, Leslie and Benjamin; 3 great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
