Raymond Michael Brenner, 71, of Apopka, passed away on Saturday October 20, 2018. He was born June 20, 1947, in Youngstown, OH to the late Joseph and Katherine Dukish Zebosky. He was a retired GE Engineer and City Public Works Director.
On September 28, 1983, he married Joanna Insco. Raymond is survived by one son, Raymond (Rebecca) Zebosky of Austintown, OH, and two step daughters, Deborah Insco of Morristown, TN and Teresa (Kendall) Kiggans of Apopka, FL. He had three brothers and one sister, Norman (Darlene) Zebosky of OH, Dennis (Barbara) Zebosky of FL, Gregory (Cheri) Bebka Zebosky of OH, and Kathleen Milburn and her companion, Tim Dillen of PA. He is also survived by one special niece, Shannon Apthorpe of PA and his loyal canine companion, Abbey Doo.
Raymond also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Raymond, Ryan, Ross Riley, Jennifer, Johanna, Kimberly, Jessica, Sarah, and Michael, as well as twelve great grandchildren, Faith, Devyn, Emma, Riley, Madison, Dylan, Mahayla, Jordan, Aubree, Carter, Austin, and Elylah.
Raymond is predeceased by his parents and one brother, Joseph Zebosky and one step son, Michael Insco.
Raymond was a graduate from Austintown Fitch High School and attended Youngstown State College, After college he enlisted in the United States Army in 1967, serving in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. After service, Raymond spent most of his career in city government as a Public Works Director where he was much respected in the multiple cities he served, most notably for the City of Ocoee, FL, City of Cleveland Heights, OH and City of Margate, FL upon retirement.
He had a lifelong passion for golf, a love of Motown music, and enjoyed spending his retired years with his family and pet.
Funeral services and viewing will be held on Wednesday October 24, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Loomis Family Funeral Home in Apopka. A final viewing will commence on Thursday October 25, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the procession leading to Edgewood-Greenwood Cemetery in Apopka, FL where he will be laid to rest.
Raymond requested that donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project, in lieu of flowers.
