Richard E. Rice, Sr., 73, of Lakeland, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014. He was born July 23, 1940 in Cumberland, Florida. Mr. Rice was an A/C Specialist with GTE for 25 years and a veteran of the US Air Force. Mr. Rice is survived by his loving wife, Barbara L. Rice of Lakeland.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL. read more…
