Robert C. Demmel, age 86, of Longwood, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013. He was born on August 06, 1926 in Fremont, OH. Mr. Demmel served in the US Navy during World War II and then later retired from the textile industry.

Hello, I just recently found out that Bob had passed away. I had driven by his house the other day and noticed the real estate sign in the yard as well as the house was empty. I can't tell you the wave of guilt that passed over me. My name is Leslie Condoleo and I used to live next door to Bob and Pat at 104. I have many fond memories of them. As a teenager my dad and I had many meals with them and spent many Sundays watching football. I used to care for their beloved dog Fritz when they would go away. My dad who is 83 and lives in New Smyrna, and I stopped by last year sometime (I wish I could remember when) and though Bob looked older he was the same old Bob. Did you know he played football for Ohio State? My family and I live on the other side of Wekiva and I always told Bob that if he ever needed anything to let me know. Though I know he had wonderful caregivers I just wanted him to know that I was there. I feel so sad. I would really appreciate it if you would call me and tell me about Bob's last few months. I understand he was cremated. Are his and Pat's ashes buried together somewhere?I look forward to talking to you. Thank you for all you did for Bob. He will always be a special person in my heart.
