Robert L. Lamphere, Jr., 83, of Apopka, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014. He was born March 14, 1931 in Binghamton, New York and moved to Central Florida 24 Years ago. He was a Deputy Sheriff and a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Lamphere is survived by his children, Robert B. Lamphere, Sharon Blinkovitch, Kathleen Allen, Donna Richards, Linda Bakay and Patricia Connis; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
