Robert T. Smart, 85, of Zellwood, Florida, passed away November 14, 2016. Mr. Smart was born April 11, 1931 in Detroit, MI. He was a graduate of Highland Park High School in 1949 and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. Then he served in the Michigan National Guard from 1954 to 1969 as a Nike Ajax and Hercules Missile Radar Technician during the Cold War. In 1967 he began a career with Burger King and quickly moved up to be a district manager in the Detroit, MI area. Soon thereafter became a franchisee owning 3 Burger King stores in the St. Louis area. Bob also became a race car owner and driver where he came to know the thrill of motor racing. Later, they moved to Kissimmee, Florida and started The Smart Shop and an Auto Export business. He retired to Zellwood Station where he is survived by his wife and best friend of 60 years, Anna May; his three adopted children, daughter Robin Souder and sons Lance and Scott Smart; sister Marylyn Paush. He is predeceased by his sister Carol Jacobs. He will be remembered by his endless entrepreneurial ideas and words of wisdom and testimonies of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
