Robert Thomas Pumphrey, 84, longtime resident of Apopka, Florida passed away on June 11, 2023. Mr. Pumphrey was born on January 23, 1939 in Apopka, Florida to the late Pete and Sylvia Pumphrey. Mr. Pumphrey is preceded in death by his loving wife Edna Jean Pumphrey; as well as his son Danny Thomas Pumphrey. He is survived his son Curtis (Karen) Ray Pumphrey Sr.; siblings Bill Pumphrey, Carolyn Holt and Patty Hansford; grandchildren Katrina (Eddy) Nuckoles, Curtis (Lauren) Ray Pumphrey Jr. and Brett Pumphrey; great grandchildren Josie, Kayla, Mason, Naylon and Kyle; as well as great-great grandchildren Ainsley, Gunner and Laramie. He will be missed by his extended family, loved ones and friends.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
