Mr. Steven Evias Coleman

Steven Evias Coleman of Apopka, Florida, affectionately known as Evias by his family, is the beloved and amazing son of Steven and Yvette Coleman. Steven went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the age of 27 years old at Advent Health Apopka in Apopka, Florida. 

Steven was born in Newark, Delaware on April 24, 1996 to still-newlyweds, Steven and Yvette Coleman.  He is the first-born and eldest sibling to ElyJah, Elysha, and Sarai Coleman. Growing up in Delaware, his spiritual foundation was rooted in his attendance and regular engagement at Holy Bethel the Church of God. He was a member of the youth choirs (Amazing Grace and Gospel Boys), actively participated in the youth programs, and fundraising to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. He attended Christiana High School where he played football as a Viking and earned a letter. He moved on to Appoquinimink High School where he participated in shot put and wrestling. Among his friends, he was known simply as Steve.

When he was 16 years old, the family moved to Apopka, Florida. He attended and successfully obtained his diploma from Apopka High School in 2014. 

Steven began his professional career at Winn Dixie in the bakery department. He had aspirations of becoming a pastry chef and began taking classes to do so. Later, he had a change of heart and decided that wasn’t the field for him. Instead, he continued his retail career and his most recent place of employment was City Furniture as a full-time employee. 

With the spiritual foundation already established in Steven, he continued growing and sharing his faith as an active member of FaithWorks in Florida. Steven loved the Lord and had a heart full of love and compassion for others. He had aspirations to spread the gospel and God’s love as evident through his drive and willingness to help others and make them happy. He has participated in serving the local homeless community and performed hurricane relief activities. 

He was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan and regularly enjoyed watching WWE. He enjoyed shows like Dragonball Z and Ben 10, playing Uno, visiting amusement/theme parks, and traveling. Socially, Steven was known as Steve E The Black. He was the host of his own sports YouTube podcast called Steve E The Black and co-host of separate sports YouTube podcast with his best friends called Anything and Everything. 

Steven is survived by his parents, Steven and Yvette Coleman, his siblings, ElyJah, Elysha, and Sarai, his grandparents Mattie Coleman, and Apostle Michael & Yvonne Bethel, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

We will be celebrating the life of Steven Evias Coleman on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Loomis Funeral Home 420 W Main St, Apopka, Florida. The viewing will begin at 4:00 PM and the celebration of life service will begin at 5:00 PM. There will be a private interment at a later date and time open only to immediate family members. The repast will be at the home of Steven and Yvette Coleman. All family and friends are welcome to attend the viewing, celebration of life service, and repast to share their memories and stories of Steven. For those unable to attend in person, the viewing and celebration of life service will be live streamed on the Loomis Funeral Home website.

The family is asking that attendees be prepared to share written memories of Steven at the viewing and service for the family to reflect on privately at a later time. Feel free to bring photos of Steven to share with the family to reflect on with your written memories. 

Since Steven had a heart of love and always willing to help others, in lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Loaves and Fishes of Apopka in Steven’s honor and memory. Loaves & Fishes of Apopka is a Not-For-Profit, non-denominational Christian organization. Their mission is seeking to minister to the expressed physical & spiritual needs of persons living in Apopka and the surrounding communities in the name of Jesus Christ, the Compassionate Savior.
