Mr. Thomas Hurshel Gainey

Thomas Hurshel Gainey

Born on March 9th, 1954 in Panama Canal Zone at the Fort Clayton Air Force Base. The first born child of Lillian and Hurshel Gainey. Born into an Air Force family, they traveled the World together to places such as Germany, France, Dover, Delaware, and San Antonio, Texas. He is the oldest brother to Mike, Jeff, Debbie and Kevin. He met his beautiful bride, Nancy, through a mutual friend and they became long-distance pen-pals while she was living in England and he was in Canada. They were married in 1979 in a church in San Antonio, Texas. They had "only just begun" and had 38 years of marriage together. Thomas is the daddy of his daughters, Carolyn and Amanda and proud papa to his grand babies Dorian, T.J and Erik. A family man and teacher all his life, he is remembered by many students whose lives he touched and the family who had the privilege of knowing him. A gentleman and a scholar. A faithful Christian man, he liked discussing the Bible and Prophecy while sharing the gospel. A goofball, a quick wit with an appreciation for movies, books and television. A hilarious sense of humor who you'd always catch reading Far Side and Garfield comics, watching and re-watching Mel Brooks, Pink Panther and Dudley Moore Films, and quoting Looney Tunes Cartoons because "Monsters are such interesting people!" There are not enough good things that could be said about this humble, loving, quiet, gentle soul of a man. He is greatly missed and will always be. Loving and loved, for always.

"Bye- Bye boys, have fun storming the castle!"
