Alice Ruth Poteet of DeLand passed away peacefully on July 22, 2022. Alice was born January 31, 1926 in Reading, Ohio.
She was married to the late Casper S Poteet in 1950 residing in Camden, Ohio until they retired in 1985 to Zellwood, Florida. Alice is survived by her children, Jeff Poteet and Judy (Ernie) Harding plus a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Alice was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. Her hobbies included crafts and crocheting. Her crochet club often made caps for the newborns at local hospitals, lap blankets for the elderly and patriot scarves for the special Olympics participants.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
