Ann Hammel Kahl, 92, of Apopka, Florida passed away on January 14, 2022. Mrs. Kahl was born on August 03, 1929 in Washington, DC. She is preceded in death by her grandson Jackson Steven Kahl as well as siblings Claire Hammel Dupont and Louella Hammell. Mrs. Kahl is survived by her son Christopher (Sara) Hammel Kahl and grandchildren Madeline Helen Kahl, Zackery Arthur Kahl and Joshua Alfred Kahl.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

So sad to learn of Ann’s passing. She was an amazing person and kept beating people in races right up until the end. I always loved her T-shirts telling people they had just been passed by an 85,86,87, etc. year old runner.
