Carolyn Bernice Hopper, age 80, completed her final journey from Mt. Dora, FL to her Heavenly home on November 25, 2020. She was born on September 19, 1940 in Phoenix, Arizona and is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Dale Hopper.
Carolyn was first and foremost a Christian Wife/Mom to her family. She grew up in central California and married Roy Dale Hopper where they lived in various places, until finally settling in Fresno. They then moved to Jacksonville, Florida where they helped establish a church. From there they moved to Houston, TX, on to San Jose, California, then to Lexington, North Carolina and eventually returned to retire in Florida. Every move was ministry minded, “what can we do to help reach the lost and serve our Pastor.” By her husband’s (Dale Hopper) side they worked faithfully together in Kingdom work for 50+ years, always ministering to the needs of others.
She was an amazing cook who served 100’s of ministers over the years in their home. Her family table was always OPEN and ready to serve everyone. As much as she loved entertaining guests around the table was her love for sewing. She was a seamstress extraordinaire!
She was a woman of faith who walked with God until He said, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant enter into the joy of the Lord.” -Matt 23:25. She was a beautiful, loving, kind, gentle and humble wife, mother and friend to those who were blessed to know her.
Carolyn Hopper is survived by her 2 children, daughter and son-in-law , Cindi and Danny Harrod (and grand dog, Daisi) of Mt. Dora, Florida; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Dale and Judi Hopper of Rising Sun, MD; 1 grandchild, granddaughter-in-law and 1 great grandchild, Curtis Dale, Amanda and Luca Dale Hopper of Rising Sun, MD as well as a brother, Gary Brooks of Nevada and a sister, Marilyn Gilstrap of California, as well as a multitude of others who called her Mom!
