Carolyn Green Hooper, a long-time resident of Apopka, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 19, 2016, surrounded by her husband and children. Carolyn had recently celebrated her 88th birthday. Carolyn was born on May 4, 1928, in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1946, Carolyn married her husband of 69 years, Eric Hooper. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Throughout her life, Carolyn always enjoyed a good laugh, socializing and playing bridge with her friends, traveling with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Eric; her daughter, Linda McDermott (Terry); her son, David Hooper (Deenie); four grandchildren, Evelyn Carrion (Mike), Carolyn Peacock (Greg), Matthew Taylor (Misty), Jenn Coursen (Cameron); seven great-grandchildren, Lucy Peacock, Thomas Peacock, John Thomas Taylor, Ruby Carrion, Ellie Taylor, Esther Carrion, William Coursen; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Will and Earl Green, her brothers, Stewart Green and Thomas “Pat” Green, and her daughter Jan Hooper. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Apopka, 201 South Park Avenue, Apopka, Florida.
