Dolores R. “Dee” Marden, age 83, of Eustis, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. She was born on September 11, 1930 in Boston, MA. Mrs. Marden moved to the Central Florida area 57 years ago. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Horton.
Mrs. Marden is survived by her loving husband, Fred Marden of Eustis; children, Thomas (Bertha) Horton of Apopka, William “Bill” (Theresa) Horton of Eustis, Wayne (Sandy) Horton of Tampa, Ralph (Marie) Marden of Dade City, and Cheryl Ann (John) Chitty; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
