Eloise Cheever, 94, of Apopka, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2021.
Eloise Cheever was born in Plymouth, Florida, on October 09, 1926 to the late Riley Gilbert Sr. and Elie Whitehead, at the Old Perry Place. At the age of 17, she was saved (born again on March 21, 1943) where she dedicated her life to the Lord. As a young girl she loved to dance which her two precious sisters would always make her costumes for her, she also love to play basketball.
Eloise was married to a great guy Charlie Cheever in 1944 where they lived in Casselberry for a year to then move to Wakefield, MA where they lived for 13 years. While living there she was a waitress, hostesses and managed a boy department in a boy department store. Charlie and Eloise adopted a boy Kenneth at 6 months old in 1954. They had waited years for him, their desire for him was that he might serve the Lord. After a while they moved back to Florida, where they lived for 4 years in Altamonte Springs. Eloise worked as a meat wrapper for 20 years. After living in Altamonte Springs for those 4 years, they moved to their home in Apopka where they resided the rest of their days.
Eloise did many things to serve the Lord, teaching junior girls and teenagers, little folk’s chores, and nursing home ministry for over 12 years. In 1998 God took her husband Charlie to Heaven. After Charlies passing miracle after miracle happened to her. Twice money came down from heaven when she needed it most, a special couple helped get her finances in order and just took her over and did so many special things for her, words couldn’t never express what her many friends and family did for her. Their pets played a great part in their lives as well. Mrs. Cheever would say she had many wonderful pastors but Pastor Mike Brewer was special special.
Eloise is preceded in death by her husband Charles; parents Riley and Elie; sister Maureen Rana and nephew Marvin Gilbert. She is survived by son Kenneth; sister Katherine; brother Riley (Bud); 2 nephews and 5 nieces. She will be missed dearly by all of her loved ones and friends.
