Frances Lillian Bohlander departed this life for God’s House on May 12, 2016. Fran was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, George L. Bohlander, a son Dennis G. Bohlander (Susan) and a grandson Mark W. Carter. She is survived by two children, Wayne L. Carter (Shirley) of Lutz, FL and Linda Dickerson of Waynesboro, VA; four grandchildren, Hank and Mary Dickerson, Kim Anglin and Jasen Bohlander; and three great grandchildren, Crystal Anglin and Aiden Mateo and Ian Cristian Bohlander. She is also survived by a former son-in-law, Henry Dickerson III. Fran met George while working as “Rosie the Riveter” at the Glenn L. Martin airplane factory during World War II. She was a devoted wife and mother who raised her children on four continents while she accompanied her husband during his naval career. She was a Deacon at Willowwood Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, VA, and she served the church and its people in many ways. Her career included being a Department Manager at JC Penney and ten years on the front desk at Zellwood Station. Fran and George retired to the Orlando area and spent many happy years travelling in their motor home, square dancing and volunteering until George’s health declined. Her loving, compassionate nature and faith in the Lord will be a lasting inspiration to the many who loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Michael J.
