Mrs. Helen Paige Jirles

Helen Juanita Paige Jirles, 95, of Winter Park, FL passed away on July 5, 2017.  Helen was born in Wauchula, FL in 1921 to Corbett and Ida Abbott Page.  She graduated from Hardee High School with the Class of 1935 and married Edward R. Jirles in 1942.  Eddie and Helen enjoyed 65 happy years together and lived in Arizona, Michigan, Washington, D.C. and Wiesbaden, Germany over the course of Eddie’s career with the United States Air Force before settling in Winter Park, FL.  While Helen pursued a career in retail service, she was famous to her family for her cooking prowess and especially for her potato salad. She will long be remembered and honored by many for her thoughtful habits and elegant style.   Mrs. Jirles is survived by sister-in-law Gloria Howell of Ohio and by many nieces and nephews.  Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Edward (Jirles) and her siblings Maurice Paige, Ila Paige Kelly and Lewis Paige. A private memorial service will be held in the fall followed by interment in the Wauchula Cemetery, Wauchula, FL.
