Kay Frances Huth, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 27th 2023 at the age of 88, in Apopka Florida. She was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to parents William and Garnett Croyle on November 17th 1934. She graduated from Freeport High School, where she excelled in mathematics, joined various clubs, and was a drum majorette for the school marching band. High School is also where she met, and later married the love of her life, Ray. She worked in the financial department of Hermann Engelmann Greenhouses for 34 years. She was a longtime member of The Apopka Women’s Club and was passionate about the Art and Foliage Festival every year. Kay loved the Lord and was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1960.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray, her parents, and her three older brothers William, Donald, and Gary.
She is survived by her daughter Cynde (Bobby) Avant, Grandchildren Wesley (Candice) Avant, and Amanda (Justin) Brockenbrough, and her Great Grandchildren Wyatt Avant and Reese Brockenbrough. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Apopka on Thursday June 8th at 1:00pm.

I met Kay through the woman’s club. I didn’t know her well, but it was always a pleasure to talk with her. She was very involved with the club. My thoughts are with the family.

Kay was such a patriarch of Apopka… her history of all accomplished in life was inspiration to many. She will be truly missed by friends, family and those of us who knew her a short time. she was one who knew meaning of true friendship and part of know of the “Apopka Fern” in front of City Hall.

My Aunt was very special to me and I loved her dearly. Although I was not present at her funeral, I would have been if I had known of her death. She was a beautiful individual who will always remain in my heart as someone who was a great influence on me. She was an important person in my life. I met Kay in 1973 when we moved across the street from her. I remember playing bunco with her until I moved away in 1985. She was a wonderful person and will be missed. Prayers for her family gone but never forgotten.🙏😇🌹♥️
