Mount Dora, FL- Marge (Good) (Gibbs) Sacks, a long-time resident of the Apopka and Mount Dora area, peacefully passed away Saturday, the 12th of November at Waterman Village surrounded by her “Heart Family” members.
Marjorie was born in Highland Park, Michigan as the only child of Chester Good and Iva (Clemens) Good. She received her degrees in Home Economics Education and Communications from Wayne State University in Detroit. Her groundbreaking public relations career in Detroit included daily newspaper articles, radio program and weekly television program which helped educate the community about new food products. She was responsible for bringing to market many frozen and packaged foods that we still eat today. The recipient of “Top 10 Women in Business”, “USDA Superior Service” from Washington DC National Extension Service, “Foremost Woman in Communications” Awards. Her most valued award was the “Heart of Gold Award” from Big Brother-Big Sister Program of Detroit for her leadership with foster children.
Always known for her magical smile, Marge loved travel, interacting with people and organizing social events. Be it at Western GC&C, Errol Estates GC&C or Vagabonds she was always the life of the party. Marge’s two great loves were her first husband James Gibbs (DOD 1989) and second husband Ralph Sacks (DOD 2012).
