Mrs. Maxine Prior Olexa

Maxine Prior Olexa 81, of Zellwood, FL passed away on 4/8/16.                                                    

The memorial service will be held Friday April 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Zellwood Station Depot with lunch to follow.

Maxine was born 4/5/35 in Suffield CT. She graduated from Suffield High School and West Chester State University.

Maxine was blessed to have 2 wonderful husbands. She married John M Prior in 1954 and they were married until his death in 1983. She married George Olexa in 2001, they were married for 15 years.

Maxine was one of the first women in the country to work in construction lending and was successful for many years in the Philadelphia area until her retirement as Sr. Vice President at Bancorp in 2006. In her retirement she volunteered for Loaves and Fishes and sat on a number of boards and committees at Zellwood Station. Her favorite hobby was travel and she and George have spent the last 15 years touring the world; they have visited over 20 countries as well as all 50 states.

Maxine will be missed by George Olexa, her 4 children Lynn (Richard), Kim (Michael), Debra, and Bill (Kim) as well as 4 step children Ronald (Kay), Michael, Donna (Chuck) and Daniel (Sarah). She has 14 grandchildren; Jason (Courtney), Amanda, John (Alexa), Nicole (Matthew), Cody, Veronica, Emma, Stephanie, Abigail, Madelyn, Maryanne (Robert), Danielle, Heather (Thomas), and Brianna as well as 8 great grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband John M Prior, her parents Charles and Audrey Spulick as well as her sister Geraldine Prowe and brother Carl Spulick.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Gaudenzia in Philadelphia, PA or Loaves and Fishes in Apopka, FL.
