Melanie Jeanne Guthrie, 55, of Apopka, passed away October 30, 2016 in Orlando, Florida.
Melanie was born in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania to Robert and Carole Clelland on September 9, 1961. In 1963 the family moved to Apopka, where Melanie chose to spend the rest of her life. She attended Apopka High School and graduated in 1979. She went on to earn a degree in education from The University of Central Florida then taught at Apopka High school for 23 Years. She met her husband, Doug when they were both working at AHS in 1987. They got married on October 1, 1988 and welcomed their first child, Garrett, that following July. Almost two years later their family grew when their daughter, Emily, was born. Since then Melanie has dedicated her life to her family and most recently, her first grandchild, Harper.
Melanie is survived by her husband, Doug Guthrie; Sister, Kathy Stoner; Mother, Carole Clelland; Children; Garrett and Emily and a grandchild, Harper.
