We are sad to announce the passing of Nancy Colton Platt of Apopka, Florida at the age of 86 on September 15, 2022.
Nancy was born Nancy Ann Thrush in Peru, Indiana on February 22, 1936, the youngest of the three children of Hazel Laudenbarger and Marquis Thrush. Her brothers Mark and Robert Thrush predeceased her. Nancy married Donne L. Colton on August 17, 1957, and the marriage ended when Donne died in 1979. Nancy’s second husband Lou Comito died in 2004. She is survived by her loving husband and dear friend Robert Platt, of Apopka, Florida, her daughter Susan Colton Weiland of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, her son Donne Colton, Jr. of Alexandria, Virginia, and her two granddaughters Katie Speckerman and Ashley Speckerman, both of Charlotte, NC.
A funeral service will be held at Church of the Holy Spirit, Apopka, on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

I was saddened for you Susan and Donne to learn of your mothers death. I have fond memories of Nancy and Donne Sr. Back in the town of Stillwater. I know peace will find you and your families.
