Nora McCord Anderson, age 95, passed away Wednesday, May 09, 2018, at Hospice of the Comforter following a short illness. She was a seamstress with Sea Island Americus GA where she retired in 1984 after 21 year employment. Americus was her home for 58 years until her husband passed in 2001 and she relocated to Lake Mary, FL to be near her son the past 17 years.
Serving the community as a good citizen was very important to her as she was a charter member of the First Assembly of God of Americus and she served as needed including Sunday School teacher, Ladies Auxiliary, Secretary- Treasurer and Choir.
Survivors include: son, Steve Anderson (Ellen) of Lake Mary FL; granddaughter, Nikki Anderson of Lake Mary FL; grandson, Greg Anderson of Plains GA; great granddaughters, Joni Stubbs Ellaville GA, Geni Dufrensie of Leesburg FL, Tia Crumley of Cordell GA; sisters Louise Harrington of Clarksville TN; Dolly Herring of Deatsville AL; sister-in-law Velma Anderson of Verbena AL.
Loved ones preceding her in death include her loving husband of 65 years Robert J. Anderson; son Bobby J. Anderson and daughter-in-law Patricia Anderson; grandsons Ricky Anderson and Chad Anderson; great great grandson Jakob Stubbs; mother Lillie B. Manning McCord and father Corbett McCord; brothers Marvin, Charlie, Lynn, and James McCord; sisters Fannie Williams, Harriett uFree, Elizabeth McKiven and Berta Evans.
Nora will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. A Memorial of her life will be forthcoming at her home church in Americus and final interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
