Norma Jean Airheart-Jones, of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on June 09, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born on May 14th, 1945 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Edgar Roosevelt Groshong and Viola Mae (Scott) Groshong.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Edward Alexander Groshong, Richard Earl Groshong, Robert Lee Groshong, Donald Eugene Groshong, Franklin Groshong, Jessie Otis Groshong, Billie Joe Groshong, Felix Augusta Groshong, Pete Groshong and Virgil Lester Groshing; sister Erma Lee (Groshong) Yanley; as well as her granddaughter Bryanna Rayza Paredes.
Norma is survived by her loving husband Johnnie C. Jones; son Bryan Wayne Airheart; daughter Sheila Meade; stepdaughter Tiffany Rose Pennino; grandsons Anthony Wayne Feldstein and Azriel Pennino; granddaughters Ariann Feldstein and Selah Pennino; great grandsons Julian Martinez, Miguel Martinez Jr, Jesse Feldstein and Anthony Boone Feldstein; great granddaughters Arianna Martinez and Jodi Feldstein; sister-in-law Olwyn Groshong of England; as well as a huge host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Norma had previously resided for many years in Arizona and was employed there as a departmental supervisor within the Maricopa County Auto License Department.
She relocated to Sorrento, Florida along with her husband Johnnie in 2010 to live and be near her sister Erma Yancey, who was battling a critical illness.
Norma’s affectionate and caring ways helped develop for her a largely extended family of friends within lake county and other parts of Florida; and many of them addressed her as “Mom”. She and her husband were also dedicated members to the East Lake County Historical Society of Florida, since 2010.
Norma’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:00pm at Insight Christian Center, 31241 Church Street, Sorrento, Florida with Pastor Roger MacPhee officiating. Invitation to join family members in the attached fellowship hall after the service.
Norma’s final resting place will be at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery at 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona 85009
