Iris Delagado passed away Sunday evening, January 19, 2020 after a long battle.  She suffered a stroke in September, 2018 and has been battling since.  She was born in Puerto Rico on December 23, 1942. She moved to New York at a young age where she met and married our Dad, Jose Delgado in 1961. Iris graduated from Jane Addams High School in Bronx, NY – Class of 1959.  She married Jose L. Delgado in 1961 and for the past 59 years, the two have lived in New York, San Diego, Honolulu and here in Apopka, FL. She worked as a beautician throughout her travels.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Romanita Roden (73 years old) and her brother Papi Roden (75 years old).  She is survived by her husband, Jose L. Delgado, her son, Jose L. Delgado, her daughter, Joanne Cornier; two grandchildren, Daniel and Tara;  five great-grandchildren, Isaac, Devin, Jayla, Arienna and Yaniyah; three step-children, Jose Delgado, Billy Delgado and Richard Delgado and many nieces and nephews .

A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 24 th at the Chapel located at St. Francis Catholic Church, 834 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Apopka, FL   32703.  Those who wish to remember Iris in a special way may make gifts in her name to the American Diabetes Association or the Seminole County Animal Services, two charities near and dear to her heart.
