Mrs. Patricia Ann Kapillas

d. December 20, 2018

Patricia Ann Kapillas (nee Harper) entered into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ,
December 20, 2018 after a courageous battle with Lung cancer, which she only learned of in
October.
Patricia is survived by her only child, Cynthia (Kevin) Vile; two beautiful, devoted grandchildren,
KJ and Angie; her long-time dear friend, Patricia Soto; her trusted loyal dachshund, Sadie Rose,
and her dearly loved brother, Albert “Butch” B. Harper. She was preceded in death by her sister
Helen Kenney, brother-in-law Jack Kenney, her nephew Gary Kenney, and her sister-in-law
Lillian Harper. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Craig (Eleni), Jack
(Purivi), Denise (Ray), Ronald (Denise), Albert “Butchie” (Jenni), Susan (Steve), Tony (Tammy),
Jen, several great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly, many neighbors and
friends whom she loved and shared many laughs with.
Patricia was born and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia to Albert W. Harper and
Helen T. (Bailey) Harper. She was a graduate of Germantown High School. Patricia worked as
a secretary for many years until she retired. She relocated to Orlando, Florida in 2006 where
she remained until the time of her homegoing.
Patricia was an extremely likable person who was very giving and self sacrificing as evidenced
in the rearing of her only child, Cynthia. She was “the best mother in the world” and the most
dedicated Nana. She loved dogs, especially boxers and dachshunds, and she was the one time
president of the Philadelphia Boxer Club. She loved ceramics, crafting, cooking and baking,
especially making cookies and fudge for gifts at Christmas. She had a deep love of motorcycles
and talked often of her days riding her Triumph and going to the motorcycle scrambles. In her
later years, although she could no longer ride, she enjoyed sharing in the riding escapades of
her son-in-law, Kevin, and her nephew, Butchie. Nothing could compare to the love she had of
her family, especially her grandchildren.
Patricia will be dearly missed, but we rejoice in the knowledge that she had a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ and her home in Heaven is secure and that she is no longer in
pain.
