Patricia ‘Tricia’ Elaine Newkirk was born November 28, 1957 to Kenneth and Dorothy Austin. She was a native Orlando resident who attended Ferncreek Elementary, Winter Park Junior High, Edgewater High, and Valencia College. Tricia was preceded in death by her husband John Newkirk and her Father Kenneth Austin. She leaves behind many who love her, Kera, Chris, and Boston Appleton, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson; Dorothy Austin, her Mom; Debbie Cheyne (Dave) and Linda Viney (Ian) sisters, Larry Hoshaw (Annabel) brother and nieces and nephews.
Tricia loved the Florida outdoors and enjoyed manatee watching, camping, and spending time at NSB and Crystal River with her family and friends. She was an active member of The Church at Oak Level where she led a Life Group with Tony Caraway and was affectionately known as ‘Mama T’. Tricia also did volunteer mission work for the Downtown First Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. Tricia was a mother figure and mentor to many young people and will be greatly missed by them all. But her most accomplished and cherished role was that of Mother to her daughter Kera who was her soul mate for life.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Church at Oak Level are requested (http://www.churchatoaklevel.com/).
