Paula was born on July 11, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas. Paula was adopted by Vivian and Dale Myers who was an Air Force Lt. Colonel, being an Air Force daughter; during the time he was stationed in Puerto Rico, she got to help take care of the officers’ horses on post. Being, that Paula did such a good job she got to go on rides with the horses. Her claim to fame while living in Denver, Colorado when she was 16 years old was running Bob Denver, the singer on the ski slopes. Paula enjoyed travelling all over the world, especially to Turkey where she spent some time because of her father’s postings. Prior to being married, Paula graduated from Florida Technological University, which is now known as University of Central Florida, where she majored in Theatre and minored in English Literature. Bob and Paula were introduced at his parents’ house where Paula was going to briefed on helping out at his sisters’ wedding. After a world-wind 2 week courtship, Bob and Paula became engaged. Bob and Paula got married a year later on April 17, 1982 at Annunciation Catholic Church and were married for 36 years. Together Bob and Paula would have five children Michael, Kira-Marie, Phillip, Sara-Jayne and Richard. While being a full time mother, Paula became involved in many groups. Paula got into Girl Scouts as a little girl when she was a Brownie at the age of 6 and never truly left. Paula got back into Girl Scouts in October of 1996 when Kira became a Brownie and for that she became a Brownie Leader. While in Girl Scouts, Paula volunteered in many roles from Service Unit Manager, managing all the troops in the Foliage Service Unit to Fall Product Chair, Registrar, School Coordinator, Co-Cookie Chair, Publicity, Girl Retention Coordinator, Archery Trainer, Northwest Orange Association Chair/Delegate for 5 years, Volunteered working on the Girl Scout Archives and Service Unit Awards Coordinator. While working in this position, Paula always made sure she recognized as many girls and adults for awards as possible because giving awards was her passion and made her extremely happy. Paula was a Life Long Member of Girl Scouts for over 59 years. While as a Girl Scout, Paula helped shape and form so many lives and created life long bonds. Paula also volunteered for other organizations in our community. Paula volunteered at the Museum of Apopkans, and volunteered for the School Board of Education to advocate for Children with Autism. Being that, two of her children are autistic. Among all the volunteering Paula did with Girl Scouts she also was dedicated to her faith, Paula gave of her time to the church from teaching religious education, to being sacristan for many years, a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, sang in the Adult Choir, and Faith Formation. Paula was part of the Lay Carmelites for many years, and loved attending adorations. Paula was very out-going and also, part of the motorcycle community in which she was qualified to ride a trike. Her husband, Bob, got her a customized motorcycle which she enjoyed riding. Paula was blessed also with two wonderful grandchildren, Maddison and Tyler who were everything to her. Paula was a wonderful Grandmother who was happiest when she was playing with them. Paula was a big part of their life and they will deeply miss her. For all the people she touched throughout the years, Paula will be missed by all and will be remembered for the good things she did in life. Paula impacted everyone she encountered. Paula was very prepared, religiously, to meet the Lord. Though Paula passed away December 1 st , the month of Christmas was her favorite holiday and will always be remembered of same.
