Mrs. Ramona Cardona-Rivera “Monchy”

Ramona- Cardona – Rivera (Monchy) went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2021. She was 87 years old. She was a residence of Apopka Florida for seven years. She was born in 1934 in San German, Puerto Rico to Parents Jose Cardona and Alida Rivera.  Monchy’s surviving sister Mercedes Cardona (Chele) resident of Ohio. Her siblings who went to be with the Lord before her; Bertha, Ramona (Monin), Carmen (Carmita), Doris, Higinio and Carlos. Ramona was a loving wife for 60 years to Mr. Victor Manuel Pineiro Alfaro. Monchy was a loving mother to Victor Jose Pineiro Cardona, he was the apple of her eyes. She was like an Eagle, very protective to Victor Jose. Ramona had a daughter who died after she was born in 1960, her spiritual name was Victoria and she missed her all her life. Her love of Music, dancing and shopping made her a very happy person. Her smile was contagious. She read the Bible and understood the word of God and her purpose in Life, “Be kind and respect others” was her philosophy of life. Monchy was a wonderful   mother in law, the best to Rosa I. Pineiro (Ivy), she loved her as a daughter. Grandma Monchy was the best Abuela of the world and was very involved in the life of her granddaughters; Giselle I. Pineiro – Weigert and Gabriela Pineiro – Mata. The greatest Abuela Mama Coco -Great grandma to Lucas James Mata. She adored her grandchildren and their spouses Brandon Weigert and Joseph Preston Mata. Dog lover for her doggie grandchildren Ody and Sweet Diamond of Moultrie GA.

Her love for her in laws, George and Debbie Weigert and Mr. James and Karen Mata was true, she was very loving to them. Monchy was a beautiful warm hearted person, who left the world better that she founded. She was a great listener and wonderful social person. A business women in Puerto Rico, manager of “The Pineiro Garden” for 35 years with her husband Victor Manuel (Vitito). They lived in Country Club Puerto Rico for many years making such a friends like Irma, Selly, Carmen Maria and Maria. She was a talented homemaker, and she cooked the best soup. Being an Aunt made her proud.” I love you titi” from Chiry and her family, Carlitos , Casony, Solimar, Millie, Jorge, Jorgito and his girls, Maria, Doribella and her boys, Rafy, Lupe Wren,  Armina, Mery,  Sherley, Jose, Carmen, Jose Pineiro ,Carla, Julie, Amelia, Doris, Jose , Jerry, Patricia and Darlene, other  nieces  Madeline, Maribel and her children, the Pineiro family and her nephews and nieces. Proud adoptive mother of Pilar Colon and Naco’s Childrens: Ana Carmen, Sonia, Nydia, Ivy, Lesbia, Javier Nitza .Grandma Monchy to Jerry, Mercedes, Jose and Javier Alexis. We are very happy that our beloved mother knew Jesus as her Lord and savior and lived a life well lived.  She prayed for all and always sent best wishes to everyone. She was loved by many people including her sisters and brother in Laws the Pineiro’s Piche, Letty, Paia, Minerva, Nerin and Juanita Diaz de Alma. She loved Victor’s friends Jorge, Mima, Robert and family, Brenda, Ana Silva and family and Alex. She loved Sandy, Theresa, Millie and Susie’s Family and Carmen and Roger.

The Pineiro- Rodriguez, Weigert, Mata, we would like to extend our gratitude to Ramona’s loving daughters Nydia Mercedes Rodriguez – Vanover and Les Rodriguez -Magaw. To Kent Magaw and Furley Vanover  for  supporting Nydia and Les to come and take care of Monchy 24 hours for a month.. Every   day loving, nurturing, singing, entertaining, praying, and the support to Ivy and Victor. Susie that came to support and love her. Her daughters Sonia and Ana Carmen great surprise visit to Monchy. Mery, Lupe and Armina and their visit lifted her spirit.  Doris, Jose and Darlene family came and pray for Monchy, she was very happy.

Her funeral will be held in Puerto Rico later this year.
