Sylvie Veronica James, 81, of Apopka, Florida passed away on October 29, 2022. Mrs. James was born on October 24, 1941 in St. Kitts to the late Samuel and Winifred Hendrickson. Mrs. James is preceded in death by her loving husband Louis James. She is survived by her children Emelda James, Sandra (Paul Campbell) James, Althea James, Nathaniel (Sharon) James, Beverly (Rawle) Barnes and Lola James; siblings Sandrine Alphonso and Peter Hendrickson; grandchildren Anita, Louis, Marsha, Joseph, Taryn, Natasha, Nathaniel Jr., Tonya, Shavaughn, Sheldon, Sherlan and Samuel; great grandchildren Kadiyah, Kacey, Taliyah, Nakayha, King, Khloe, Jada, Karlton, Alexandra, Jacob, Neiomi, T.J. Amira, Joseph Jr., Jordan and Jaden; as well as her great-great granddaughter Emeri. She will be missed by many loved ones and friends.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
