Tommie Ann Hurst, 85, of Apopka, Florida passed away on September 22, 2021. Mrs. Hurst was born on December 17, 1935 in Opp, Alabama to the late Hubert Cauley and Billie Fay Patterson. She was a lifelong Apopka Resident and attended Apopka Memorial High School. Mrs. Hurst was a manager at multiple retails store all over Central Florida until she retired. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Leonard Hurst Sr. as well as siblings Copeland Cauley and Ricky Patterson. Mrs. Hurst is survived by her children Chuck (Roz) Hurst, Jeff (Maggie) Hurst and Tony Hurst; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
