Zera was born in Sebring, Florida on September 26, 1936 and went to be with her Lord on December 16, 2018. As a young girl, her family moved to Gainesville, Florida and then relocated to Orlando in the early 1950’s. She has remained an Orlando resident since that time. Zera was the last of five children born to the late Julius and Letha Holley. She is survived by her husband, Nathan Thompson of Orlando, Florida; daughter Debbie Thompson of Orlando, Florida, Dena (Jim) Fitzgerald of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Nathan “Dean” (Eve) Thompson of Apopka, Florida; 2 grandchildren James Fitzgerald of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Daniel Thompson of Kissimmee, Florida; niceces and nephews; her beloved dog Lacey and car Albert. Zera was preceded in death by her late parents; siblings Eunice Moore, Mary Shivers, Jean Holley and J.C. Holley and many of her beloved pets. Zera graduated from Boone High School in 1955. She worked in the banking business and taught preschool children, but was mostly a stay at home mom. She often referred to herself as “a domestic engineer” AKA “Queen Clean”. Outside of family and church, she was an avid Florida Gator Fan, and animal lover. Zera was a member of the Park Avenue Worship Center in Apopka, Florida (Church of God), and served God faithfully throughout her life. She adored her church family and most of her best times were spent in fellowship with them. She will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her until we can be reunited with her in heaven once again.
