Eugenie A. Banks, age 101, of Apopka, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013. She was born February 01, 1912 in St. Andrew, Jamaica and moved to Central Florida 17 years ago. She was a Retail Sales Clerk and a member of the Apopka Seventh Day Adventist Church. Ms. Banks is survived by her daughter, Hyacinth Smith of Apopka; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
