It’s with profound sadness that the Faber family announces the passing of Heather Leigh Faber. She passed away peacefully on July 8, 2023 at the Tavares Cornerstone Hospice house surrounded by family. Heather fought a courageous three year long battle with cancer, but ultimately succumbed to the awful disease at the young age of 44.
Heather was born on June 2, 1979 in Orlando, FL to Judy and Joseph Faber. She graduated from
Apopka High School in 1997 and later earned her degree as a Registered Nurse.
Heather is survived by her two children, grandchild, father, brother, sister, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle, cousins, boyfriend and friends. She cared greatly for those around her, and had a passion for helping others. Heather lives on in our memories and will forever be in our hearts.

I didn’t know Heather long, at most all of two months. We worked together for a home health company, she trained me and we worked closely together with patients. I was with her the day she got the phone call that the cancer was back. The way she took the news with such grace and faith I will never forget. She looked right back into the eyes of this horrible cancer and was determined to fight. I remember thinking I would never have the strength that she had. Although she was facing this horrible news the most shocking thing to me was she was always more concern with everyone else. Heather was one of those people that their souls just radiated light. She was one of most selfless nurses I have ever had the privilege to work with. The light she brought to her patients and anyone around her I will never forget. I can only imagine her impact for those who knew her longer. But I cherish my time I had with her because very few people in your life leave that kind of mark in such a short time. Heather was and will always be a beautiful, caring, selfless soul. I may never understand why God calls souls like this home so early. But I do know her impact during her short time was felt greatly. I know she is dancing with the angels now.
My prayers are with her family and friends. May God bless you.

I taught Heather in Nursing School, at Lake Sumter State College and had the privilege to work with her as a nurse. Her patients loved her, one of them called her an “angel”, while others thought how skillful and caring she was.
To her peers and those she come into daily contact, she was a source of comfort and encouragement. She had the strength, and energy to fight the cancer that enveloped her body but not her soul while always concerning herself about the state of others.
I remember three weeks before her passing, I spoke to her and asked that we go to lunch. I waited for the call for us to meet, but it never came. Instead, I received the sad news of her moving on to a better place.
My prayers are with her family and close friends.

I met Heather through our Leimyosarcoma group. She was a beautiful soul inside and out and you could tell how precious she was. I was heartbroken to read she had passed and I still haven’t accepted that this beautiful Angel is no longer here with us now but she’s watching over her loved ones.
