Lillian Herndon, 93, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Lillian was born on April 17, 1927 in Mount Dora, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Hattie Richter. She is survived by her daughters, Annette Hegan and Donna Castlewitz, her much cherished grandaughter and caregiver, Brianna Hegan and her son n’ laws Roger Hegan and Tommy Castlewitz. She was very happily married to Gene Herndon for 52 years. She has many nephews and nieces. She loved and was very proud of her family, and was the youngest of 14 siblings.
Lillian was a very faithful Jehovah’s Witness and her faith was most important to her.
She was an artist, a Mom, a loving wife and homemaker. She also worked alongside her husband with their ambulance and medical transport businesses, and then went onto building and renovating homes with family in their retirement. Lillian could do whatever she put her mind to. She rode horses with her husband in Arizona, lived in North Carolina for a time where she and her husband built homes, ruby mined and explored. When their main residence was in Florida, they fished, traveled and went on
Cruises together. When her husband passed, Lilly traveled quite often with her sister n’ law. She also even found time to take care of quite a few family members and beloved sister. Lillian also hosted many family reunions at her home. She was truly someone to be admired and will be missed. An Orlando/Central Florida resident for over 80 years. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
