Our beloved mother and grandmother, Lydia R Fosson, age 77, died peacefully and surrounded by her family of natural causes at her home in Apopka, Florida on October 5, 2022. Born in Braddock, Pennsylvania in March 1945 to William (dec.) and Bernadette (dec.) Dickun, Lydia, or Libby as she was known to all who loved her, is survived by her 3 sisters Barb, Ree and Debbie, numerous nephews and nieces, 3 children Sandy, Chuck (Tiffany) and Zach (Kim), 12 grandchildren Adam (Tiffany), Ethan, Megan, Tristan, Leah (Bryce), Sarah, Marley, Drew, and Jesse, along with Michelle, Khara, and Shemaya. 2 great grandkids, Sawyer and Merrick and one great granddaughter, Everett, to be born in December. And longtime partner and friend, Steve Drummond and his children Casey (Anna) and Aaron (Carolyn). Let’s not forget, Maxie, Dot, and Gemma who were her “girls”.
Libby was a Veteran of the US Navy, having served during the Vietnam years. She was a lifelong learner and had degrees in education and nursing, her last job working as the Nurse Director of Labor and Delivery, Post Partum and High-Risk OB at Florida Hospital in Orlando. She was a fierce proponent of breastfeeding and started the lactation program at what is now AdventHealth Orlando. This job brought her so much joy and created friendships that endured until the end.
Libby enjoyed most of all spending time with her kids and grandchildren and Steve. They were lucky to spend time with her traveling across the country, in trains, RV’s, planes, and cars. She loved to share the world with them! For many years her sister Barb and her created beautiful quilts together, but it was more than a quilt that they created, it was a physical manifestation of their love for each other. She was the rock who held us together, took care of us, and moving forward, we hope we can make her proud.
Libby chose to be buried in a private ceremony attended by close family at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Micanopy, Florida. The family would appreciate in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her name to help maintain this serene property. https://www.prairiecreekconservationcemetery.org/support-pccc

So sorry to read this. I worked for Libby in the late ‘80’s & ‘90’s. Such a beautiful obituary. Rest in peace Libby.
