Michele, meaning one who resembles God or gift from God, was born in the small district of Long Road, St Mary in Jamaica and the fifth child of 8 children born to Vida and the late David Forrester. Michele was known to many as Faye.
She attended the Long Road all age school, where many remember her love for running, though asthmatic Michele would not let this impede her from doing what she loves, she lived a well-rounded life filled with life skills.
Michele can be remembered for her contagious smile and her deep booming laughter that can reverberate for a mile.
Michele would mother a child, Krystal, who became the fruit of her womb, the apple of her eyes and her angel. Krystal became her greatest motivation and working hard was what she was known for. She later migrated to England to seek a better way of life for herself and her child. Michele spent several years there, after which she returned home to Jamaica, to assist in the upbringing of Krystal. Faye then migrated to the United States of America. Soon after migrating Faye was elated to petition for Krystal to join her in the US. The apple of her eye was back with the tree.
In November 2020 Michele was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). This disease affected all her muscles, resulting in her inability to walk, talk and perform all daily functions and later resulted in paralysis.
Even then Michele never lost her contagious smile and laughter. Even in her toughest times she had a smile that would light up the darkest room.
On May 21, 2022, she left us to become her daughter’s angel. While we are sad, we cherish all the time spent with her and now we get to celebrate her life that was well lived.
Survived by daughter Krystal, mother Vida, sisters: Annette, Shernette, Caroline, Georgette, brothers: David and Evan, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
