Ms. Mendizabal is survived by her children Elizabeth Payne, Pedro Mendizabal, and Rosario (Charo) McGuigan; siblings Jorge Garay, Antonieta Domingue, Ricardina Dagnino, Margarita Dunning, and Nellie Perez; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
