Nicola Knowles Edwards, 79, of Altamonte Springs, FL, passed away on October 9th, 2024, surrounded by loving family.
Nicola was born October 10th, 1944, in Key West, Florida, the daughter of George Irving Knowles Jr. and Maggie Elizabeth Johnson Knowles.
Nicola graduated from Miami Norland Senior High School in 1962.
Nicola married William Grady Edwards II on October 10th, 1962, at United Pentecostal Church of Miami, FL with Rev Wayne Rooks officiating. They were married for fifty-five years until William’s death on October 6th, 2018, and had two children, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Nicola received the Holy Ghost at United Pentecostal Church of Miami where she was a member for over 20 years before being a member of The Pentecostals of Apopka for 42 years and loved attending church and reading her Bible. She was recently awarded a certificate for reading the Bible through every year for 35 consecutive years.
Remaining to cherish Nicola’s memory are children, Rebecca Anne Edwards and Diane Edwards Mahoney (married to Kevin); grandchildren, Joseph VanNess (married to Dawn), Christopher VanNess (married to Shelley), Cheyenne Arneault (married to Audric), Abigail Mahoney, and Benjamin Mahoney; great-grandchild, Jaden Elliott; and sisters, Jan Myers and Kerry Stoddard (married to Sandy).
Preceding Nicola in death are spouse, William Grady Edwards II; sister, Dana R. Knowles.
Visitation will be held October 17th, 2024, at 6PM at The Pentecostals of Apopka. Funeral services will be held October 17th, 2024, at 7PM at The Pentecostals of Apopka, with Pastor Caleb Hill officiating. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
