Ronald Blake Woodham (Ronnie)

Ronald Blake Woodham (Ronnie) was born on the 27 th of April, 1983 in Winter Garden, FL. Ronnie and his family are lifelong residents of Apopka. Ronnie is the son of Guy “Ace” Woodham, Jr. and Karen Gandy – Woodham. The brother of April and Blair, loving fiancé of Skye Norvell and proud uncle of Brady, Baylee, and Brycen.

Ronnie was full of life and loved to make people laugh. As a child he would save his birthday money and allowance to buy prank toys. There was much discussion on which he loved more, the fake poop or the whoopi cushion. Every chance he got he would find a way to make you laugh or scare the daylights out of you. If it wasn’t jumping out of a boat in the middle of Bear Lake at 3 years old (because he wanted to swim) or losing his pants while being dragged behind a boat right in front of the Wekiva Marina or smashing baby shower cupcakes in his face or hiding in the refrigerator Ronnie was always up to something and you were always laughing!

Ronnie was, from day one, of the most sensitive, loving, caring, and compassionate people you would ever come across. He would, and has, given the shirt off of his back for anyone in need. One Christmas Eve night, at the tender age of 6, he and his family came across and homeless man on their way home. Ronnie cried at the sight of him just knowing that man had no food, home, or family to spend the holidays with. They proceeded home all the while Ronnie was clearly upset. Upon arriving home, Ronnie ran to his room, emptied his piggy bank, and gave his father all of the$12 and change he had saved. Mom & Dad, feeling Ronnie’s heart, drove through a drive thru and searched downtown for over an hour to make sure that gentleman had a hot meal for Christmas.

One day when Ronnie was 7 years old he and his buddy Ryan (Beggs), from down the street, were playing in the backyard at the Woodham residence. Ryan, who was the younger of the two, fell into the pool. Ryan could not swim, and Ronnie, being half fish, dove and in and pulled Ryan to safety. He always put others first with no thought to his own well-being.

In 2004, Ronnie’s “twin” and best friend, Boomer, dragged him to a party.  It was that night that he met Skye. They had an instant connection and stayed in touch on and off for many years. In June of 2008 Ronnie and Boomer got into a bad accident. After several months of suffering, Ronnie suffered a massive stroke which left him paralyzed on his left side along with some brain injury.

Skye returned home to Apopka in 2015 to honor her grandpa’s wishes of looking out for her Nana after his death. Ronnie was ecstatic for her return, under the circumstances. Skye came back home in January of 2016, and was welcomed by Ronnie. In just a few short months, they were together and happier than ever. Ronnie loved her with everything he had. His last and only plans were to make her happy and to make her a part of his life. He wanted to marry Skye and have a life of his own with her by his side. Skye is a treasure and keepsake for the family.

Ronnie was a treasure in every sense, and will forever be our: friend, family, mate, brother and was a consent. We love you today and always… Family and Friends.

Ronnie passed at home on February 13, 2019.
